I have been holding off on this song but no longer! Part of me wanted to keep this song in the bank for a rainy day, but another part was just waiting to see if this was going to drop on an EP. Unfortunately we can’t predict the release schedule of Cozway so we’ll take what we can get.
“Java” is quintessential Cozway. The layering is soft but powerful and there aren’t any offensive segments. If you were to break the song down you would probably be able to categorize the pieces by whether they sounded cultural or 2019. However, when put together, the package becomes extraordinarily cohesive–probably Cozway’s biggest strength.
